Military Pay Chart 2021

The military pay tables are updated based on the proposed pay raise by the White House. The 2021 military pay chart for every rank (pay grade), and years in service is as shown down below.

The White House proposed a 3.0% pay raise to military service members for 2021. If the pay raise of military service members were to be 3.0% in 2021, it will be the first time in over ten years the military pay raise is 3.0% and over in consecutive years.

Considering that the coronavirus pandemic had affected multiple government agencies, there might be a minor cut in the pay raise. At the time of writing, lawmakers are pushing for a higher pay raise for federal employees in 2021.

The White House proposed a 1% pay raise for federal employees. This is significantly lower than the proposed military pay raise. In the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, the military plays a great role even though it isn’t recognizable at first. So, there is no reason for the 3% pay raise to not make any sense.

Bonuses and Allowances in Addition to Base Salary

Military service members are provided with housing and food. This is one of the most attractive parts of serving in the military for some. Even if a military service member is forced to be located outside of a military base, he or she will be provided housing. This is the Basic Allowance for Housing.

On top of this, the housing isn’t only provided to military service members. The spouse and dependents are also provided on-base housing. That said, the military service members basically don’t pay for their essential needs such as housing and food.

Other than the housing and food, military service members receive bonuses. There is an initial bonus of $10,000 for completing the basic training. This is given to all service members who complete their basic and job training. There are plenty of other bonuses for completing certain tasks, going on deployments, and many more. These are all added to the base and locality pay.

Below, you can see the base salary of military service members for all ranks and the number of years in service.
