Vanguard Investment Account Fees

Vanguard offers a wide range of investment options and accounts. It’s one of the most popular investment firms where you can trust and watch your money grow. It’s definitely a popular investment firm with not just plenty of options but low fees as well.

Vanguard is the friendliest investment firm if you want to have low-cost investment options. If you’re a retirement saver or plan on holding onto your investments, Vanguard is the right place because of its low-cost funds.

The only downside you can see at a glance is it has limited data and research while providing a basic trading platform only. So you must have a simple mindset if you want to be long happy with your investments.

Given Vanguard offers a wide selection of investment options such as commission-free stocks, options, and ETF trades; mutual funds with relatively low fees, it’s to good to miss out.

Brokerage Account Fees

Vanguard Brokerage Service come with a $20 annual fee but this doesn’t charged from everyone. If you hold at least $10,000 in Vanguard ETFs or mutual funds, you pay this fee.

In addition, the clients who have a trust or organization account registered with an EIN, the clients at least $50,000 in qualifying Vanguard assets, the clients who elected e-delivery statements or annual privacy policy notice or brokerage and mutual fund confirmation or; reports, prospectuses, and proxy materials also don’t pay the fee.

ADRs, Foreign Securities Transactions, Miscellaneous, and Wire Transfers

  • ADRs (American Depositary Receipts): The banks that custody the ADRs can charge holders certain fees. This isn’t directly related to Vanguard but the bank you’re working with. These fees are collected through Vanguard Brokerage Services and automatically subtracted from your brokerage account. You can see the fees on your account statements.
  • Foreign Securities Transactions: There is a $50 processing fee for non-DTC eligible securities and commission on top of the initial fee.
    • If the trade needs to be executed over multiple days, the commission will be charged for each day on which the execution occurs. Also, there might be additional fees for each day the execution occurs.
  • Miscellaneous: The maintenance fees and other fees may apply. Contact Vanguard about your account to see the fees that might apply.
  • Wire Transfers: Vanguard Brokerage charges a $10 wire fee for the each holding redeemed but this doesn’t apply to those who have at least $1 million in qualifying Vanguard assets. Even if Vanguard doesn’t charge fees, your bank might for electronic or wire transfers,
