How to Renew Driver’s License in Connecticut?

If you’re driving in Connecticut, it’s important to renew your license before it expires. If you don’t, you may be charged a late fee and you’ll have to pass written and driving tests again. The best way to avoid this is by renewing your driver’s license as soon as you receive the renewal notice.

Connecticut Driver’s License Online Renewal

Drivers can renew their license or ID card by mail or in person at a full-service DMV office. They must submit two pieces of proof of Connecticut residency that contain the applicant’s name and address. The documents must be dated within 90 days of the application date. If you have recently moved, you will need to notify the DMV within 48 hours of your new address. During the renewal process, you’ll be asked whether you want to upgrade your license to a verified Real ID or not. This will allow you to use your license at the airport and for other purposes.
