Form M1PR is filed by homeowners to claim a Homestead Credit Refund. It can also be filed to acquire a Renter’s Property Tax Refund. Keep reading this post to see M1PR instructions for the tax year 2023 – 2024
Form M1PR has two pages and a couple of sections in it. The first page includes parts that need to be filled out:
- Your name and initial, last name.
- Spouse’s name and initial, last name
- Your and your spouse’s Social Security Numbers.
- Your current address.
After you’ve done with your personal information, you need to start filling out all the questions ahead.
The second page has a section called “Special Refund.” It warns the filers with these words:
To qualify, you must have owned and lived in this homestead both on January 2, 2023, and January 2, 2024. If you qualify, see the instructions. Be careful while filling it out because there are so many detailed instructions that you may get confused during your work. Don’t forget to put your signature on the form when you’re finished with it.
Don’t get confused with draft forms. You can get the original M1PR Form from the Minnesota Department of Revenue’s website. Remember that any draft form you file to get a refund will result in the invalidation of your process.
