Acceptance Agent for Forms W-7

Form W-7 is the tax form used for obtaining an Individual Identification Tax Number (ITIN). If you’re planning on getting your ITIN through an acceptance agent, there are a limited number of national and international acceptance agents you can work with. Similar to other tax provisions, the companies that are accepted for this process are subject to change. The Internal Revenue Service regulates which acceptance agents are available for obtaining ITIN for foreign individuals and businesses.

For the time being, only the following acceptance agents for Forms W-7 are available.

• BDO
• Deloitte and Touche, LLP
• Ernst & Young LLP
• KPMG LLP
• PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP

When applying for ITIN through the above acceptance agents, make sure to contact the local offices as you will need to present documents first to initiate the application process. Since the acceptance agents are changing over time, we’ll keep the list updated when the IRS updates the list.
