Form 1023-EZ, Streamlined Application for Recognition of Exemption Under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code is the easier version of Form 1023. Cause Form 1023 is quite complex and a large portion of taxpayers that file it don’t need everything the form asks, using Form 1023-EZ to handle the needs is a lot easier.
When completing Form 1023-EZ for application for recognition under IRC Section 501(c)(3), the worksheet is required to see if you can continue using the form. If you’re not eligible after filling out the worksheet, use Form 1023, not the EZ version of the form.
